So what do you get when you mix a kangaroo and satellite TV?

It’s not a joke, it’s Dish Network’s new system that will change the way Dish customers watch TV.  The Dish Hopper will revolutionize the way you watch TV.  Some of the unique features include SRS TruVolume technology to prevent volume fluctuations, a two-terabyte hard drive (for those of you who do not know what a terabyte is—well it’s huge) which allows up to 250 hours of HD or up to 1,000 hours of SD recording, SiriusXM satellite music channels including station logos, Share any DVR recordings between any HDTV in your home, and you can also access hundreds of On Demand titles even if you are not connected to the Internet with DISH Unplugged.  The hopper also includes three satellite tuners, TV Everywhere on mobile devices with Sling® Adapter, picture-in-picture for watching any two channels simultaneously and you can also record up to 6 live HD channels at once.
To use the Dish Hopper Whole-Home HD DVR entertainment system you will need a “Joey” device.  The Dish Joey gives you the ability to have full DVR functionality on every TV, including the ability to pause, rewind, fast-forward, and record live TV.  Combined with a Joey, the Dish Hopper offers even more features such as a 750 MHz Broadcom process (the fastest satellite receiver processor available today for a quick, responsive on screen guide), a “remote control finder” alert, a fast, graphical easy-to-use tile-based user interface with predictive search. Not only is the Dish Hopper small and sleek, but it also is approximately 50 percent more energy efficient for a four-room installation than previous models.
My personal favorite feature is called PrimeTime AnytimeÔ which allows customers (with only one click) to record using a single tuner all of the Primetime TV programming from ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX.  Once the customer activates this feature, PrimeTime Anytime records network programming in high definition, where available, every night and stores the programming for eight days after they have aired giving you an on-demand library of around 100 hours of Primetime TV shows.  Forget to record your favorite primetime show from last week? No problem! Just use this feature and your covered! Some other features include “apps” that give Dish TV viewers real time access to Facebook, Twitter, Pandora, games, news, weather, sports stock options and photo sharing.

Don’t have Dish? What are you waiting for?—be the first on your block to experience the future of TV!
