Dish Network Satellite Parental Locks

With the variety of entertainment choices available on Dish Network satellite TV, we understand not all programs are suitable for every audience.  With Dish Network Parental controls you are in charge of what your kids watch.
Dish Parental controls allows you to block programming based on ratings, selected channels such as Dish Pay per view or adult programming.

To do this, simply press your Dish Network menu button on your remote and select locks from the menu list.  From the lock menu select an option of what types of programs you want blocked.  If you want to block all programs on all channels based on ratings, highlight the ratings and hit select.  There are two options for blocking by ratings—you can block Movies by ratings, Television shows or both.  You can also select options such as language, dialogue, nudity, violence and sexual content.  To block specific channels, you need to select each channel you want to lock.  After making your selections, select done.  After making these changes you will need to go “Lock System” in your menu.  Enter a four-digit password in the area provided and press ok.  If you or someone else attempts to enter in the incorrect password, you may be locked out after three attempts.  You can either wait one hour and re-enter your password or call Dish Network customer service to have your password re-set.

Once you have locked your system, you may need to enter the password to view or delete any programming you have recorded.  If you have a dual-tuner receiver you will need to set the locks on both TV1 and TV2--simply follow the same procedure above.
